With the help of some mums of multiples, here are a few of the places we’ve come across and highly recommend for bringing twins, triplets or more.

JFK Arboretum

One of our favourite places is the JFK Arboretum, 12 km south of New Ross in County Wexford. We go for long walks with the buggy looking at all the different kinds of trees and then go and feed the ducks. There is a great playground with picnic tables around, a very well stocked café nearby, a miniature train track and horse carriage tours. It is open all year – more details on http://www.heritageireland.com/en/South-East/TheJohnFKennedyArboretum/

Carrigbyrne Mini Farm, Carrigbyrne Hill, Co. Wexford

We have had several brilliant days in the Carrigbyrne Mini Farm. There are good wide paths to walk around and, although a bit hilly, you can easily get around with the double buggy. You get a bag of carrots to feed the emus, donkeys, ponies, goats, pigs etc – and our girls are still talking about the Macaw parrot there.

Ballycross Apple Farm
, Bridgetown, Co. Wexford

I have not been there but it is apparently a brilliant place to bring the kids. They do events throughout the year and have lots of animals as well – and it is free! We hope to go this weekend so will keep you posted!

The Wexford group meets on the second Monday of every month in Leisure Max in Drinagh, from 10.30 to 12.30 and entry is 5 euros per family, or 2 euros for families-to-be of multiples. The next meeting takes place on Monday 9 November.  Check the MyChat forum for updates of the following month’s meeting or you can email wexfordttmgroup@hotmail.com.
